Raymond Anthony Music

About

Raymond Anthony’s passion for music began at an early age, starting with drums before branching off into classical music, keyboards, and guitar. He has been influenced by bands like U2, Devo, Human League, Kraftwerk and Soft Cell, as well as composers ranging from Peter Gabriel, Mozart and Bach to Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, and Kitaro.

He has supported his musical career by working in music retail stores before moving into sound engineering and production, working for Jason Newsted of Metallica, at the Chophouse, and Tommy G Entertainment.

Raymond started writing songs on a small Fostex X15 and an Ensoniq Mirage set-up. His first band was Jeff Hanson’s band UHF, where he played a combination percussion and synthesizer set-up. They played various clubs such as Hotel Utah and Last Day Saloon in San Francisco.

Raymond had a brief sojourn in Montana, where he co-founded the band Lost and Found, with Allen Whiteman, noted bassist for The Mermen and Joe Satriani. The band played around the Montana music scene, recorded an album and had many favorable write-ups in the press. They returned to San Francisco but soon parted ways. This paved the way for Raymond’s solo project called, Two of Many and other projects like scoring the music for an independent film titled “On It”

He sees himself moving in a new direction, explaining, “I am using more conventional instrumentation and less classic synth tones. My music has always been underscored by a wall of sound quality, but I am trying to be more organic in my approach”.
